Today’s testimony is from Daniela Rosanna Corasaniti, from Reggio Calabria, Italy: a journey that shows how caring for our common home transforms lives and opens up new relationships of hope.
The desire to have a useful, new, and meaningful experience prompted me to respond to the call of San Damiano, along with the desire to grow and improve. From the moment I arrived at the station and was welcomed by Antonio, Sister Chantal, and Sister Consolata, I felt that I was in the right place.
At San Damiano, Veronica was a true teacher of hospitality for me: with her enthusiasm and freshness, she made me feel at home, leaving a positive mark on my journey, even though her stay was short. Leading the group in Sella Giudicarie (Trento) was a rewarding experience: I realized that my words could be helpful, and receiving smiles and hugs was a gift that filled my heart.
Confirmation that I was on the right path came from Sister Marita, who, listening to what I was saying about Francis and Clare, said to me: “Daniela, thank you so much for speaking from the heart”. That emotion was intense and reminded me how precious volunteering is, supported by prayer, Holy Mass, and daily Adoration, as a tool for spiritual and personal growth.
This experience taught me that service to others, fraternity, and care for creation are not just ideals, but realities that transform daily life.
Cultivate hope, sow actions: become a volunteer and change the world with us.
