Today’s testimony comes from Sister Solange Lomessoas, from Cameroon: a journey of faith that becomes a concrete commitment to caring for our common home.
I came to Assisi driven by my love for the Laudato Si’ movement, which I follow with passion. As leader of my chapter, I felt I had to participate in the celebration of the movement’s 10th anniversary, to share this special moment with other leaders and animators who live the same ideal.
As a Dominican, over the years I have studied the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare, and this experience has allowed me to discover extraordinary places and wonderful people. I have formed deep friendships, with the certainty that at international meetings we will always see each other as brothers and sisters, not as strangers. I met Sr. Gaudence and Chantal, and rediscovered the warmth of my community in San Damiano.
The most joyful moment was celebrating together the 10th anniversary of the Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) and the 800th anniversary of the Canticle of the Creatures, with a giant cake symbolizing sharing and celebration. Every encounter, every smile, every moment of prayer and reflection reminded me how precious it is to walk together, to unite spirituality and care for creation, to weave bonds of fraternity and ecological responsibility.
This experience invites us to become witnesses to the care for our common home, through small daily gestures and shared commitment.
Together we can take care of our common home: join us, change starts with you!
