Today we welcome the voice of Thayná Miranda, from João Pessoa, Brazil. Her journey shows us how caring for our common home is an act that renews life and builds bonds of hope.

Volunteering at San Damiano was a true gift for my soul. For some time, I had felt the need for a renewal in my faith: I went to Mass, but I felt that something was missing, that I wanted to rediscover a deeper connection with God and with creation.

Spending a week in the places visited by St. Francis, observing his love for the Creator through creatures and nature, transformed me. Every corner, every gesture, every encounter reminded me of the kind of human being I am called to be: more attentive, generous, aware of the beauty of the world and the value of each person.

Volunteering allowed me to live the experience deeply: serving others was also a journey of personal and spiritual growth, a concrete way to rediscover God’s love and the joy of giving oneself. Sharing with other volunteers and members of the Laudato Si’ movement was a source of inspiration and sincere friendship: their dedication touched me too, giving me new enthusiasm and courage.

I hope that many others will have the same opportunity: to find in service, fraternity, and care for creation a way to renew their lives and their faith.

Change starts with relationships and commitment: walk with us.
