Today we hear the testimony of Giuseppa Cichello, from Filandri, Italy, who shares with us her journey with the Laudato Si’ Center, a journey of faith, commitment, and hope.
The desire to immerse myself spiritually in the places of St. Francis guided me throughout the week in San Damiano. Walking through these spaces, breathing in the history and atmosphere that welcomed Francis and Clare, stirred deep emotions in me: it was like taking a leap back through the centuries and perceiving the courage, determination, and depth of their life choices.
Every encounter with other volunteers and pilgrims, even if brief, left a mark on my heart. These relationships strengthened my conviction that the priorities in life are human relationships, those that lead us to the Father and encourage us to live with love, attention, and gratitude towards our neighbors and Creation.
Volunteering at San Damiano is not just about serving: it is a journey of personal and spiritual growth, in which service, prayer, and sharing are intertwined. This experience has shown me how caring for our common home and fraternity can transform daily life, inspiring concrete gestures of love and responsibility.
Small gestures, big impact: become a volunteer!
